Hey, you know, whatever keeps you interested :)

A must-read diary at DailyKos by clarknt67 about all of us and the work we do here. And my giant mouth. Oh, and Larry Adams.

Rec, comment, and then ask 10 friends to. We’re over the halfway mark on our fundraiser and I’d sure like to piss off Maggie and Brian by getting to the top!

Yes, but it is your big, beautiful mouth added to the big, beautiful mouths of all the other activists that help keep this in the news and show others exactly how we are being discriminated against and oppressed.

Okay, let’s try this a third time!

Let me see if it works when I check BOTH boxes.

Richard, if that still doesn’t seem to work, use the link from an old subscribe email and when you get to the page with the list of topics you’ve subscribed to, look at the top for “pending” subscriptions.

UPDATE: LCR v. USA (DADT case)
Amicus Brief filed by Foundation for Moral Law in support of continuing DADT policy

For starters, on the list of Other Authorities: Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26-27, research of the illustrious Paul Cameron, Robert Knight (for the FRC) and lots of stuff about HIV and STDs.

      This should be fun.

      Thanks Kathleen!!

I haven’t read this yet…. but….ummmmm… the law has been repealed. Do they think the 9th Circuit is going to reinstate it?

      • 14. Kathleen  |  March 4, 2011 at 4:14 pm

They’re not happy about that either.

      The short version of this:
A magical fairy tale book and lots of people from around the world, who have been dead for a really long time, think teh gayz are icky. Ignore that thing behind the curtain (Lawrence v. Texas). Even though DADT has been repealed, someone (we elect) in the future might want to reinstate discrimination and the district court’s ruling should be overturned so those we elect can reinstate discrimination. Ignore that thing behind the curtain. Jewish military personnel can’t wear yarmukles so gays shouldn’t be allowed to fight and die for their country. Ignore that thing behind the curtain. Teh gayz have and share lots of different icky diseases – because they are slutty sluts that have the butt-secks (nothing about lesbians). The military would have to pay to treat them and the super-great straight people they infect (because allowing open service would mean that everyone in the military would HAVE to have the buttsecks as part of their jobs, I guess?). Seriously, ignore that thing behind the curtain. We are from Alabama and we have spoken!

I’ll post an actual critique of this later. This was fun!

That’s basically what I got out of it too – that and:

Look what Sir William Blackstone said about teh buttsecks in in 1763 in “Commentaries on the Laws of England,” which (according to Justice James Iredell in 1799) “for near 30 years has been the manual of almost every student of law in the United States.”

This brief is Poe’s Law in action.

Plus, they really, really want the Rational Basis test for this case.

**aside to Kathleen** Do you see what I did there? :)

          <3 Jason

        LOL Jason :)

“slutty sluts that have the butt-secks (nothing about lesbians).”

        A) There really isn’t anything wrong with more than one partner in a lifetime (which is what I assume people like the author of the blog mean when they talk about sluts)

        B) They assume this doesn’t apply to many, many straight people

Roy Moore?!? That sounds vaguely familiar to my “senior”, thus fuzzy, memory. Wasn’t he something like Chief Justice of the Alabama S.Court who went around making up his own laws and got suspended/fired/slapped by some judicial review panel? I’m not doing too well here, but that name sticks in my head for some reason.

      • 21. Kathleen  |  March 4, 2011 at 5:17 pm

Your memory appears to be serving you well:

        • 22. Straight Dave  |  March 4, 2011 at 5:38 pm

Thanks, Kathleen. Reading that brought back more memories. Now I know why it stuck in my head so strongly.

“Moore .. indicated he would defy any similar court orders in the future. … That’s all I’ve done… I had threatened the philosophy of judicial supremacy.”

He’s the Chief freakin’ Justice and he doesn’t think the courts have the last word in this country, so he feels free to openly defy a federal court order? Such a great example to the entire Alabama judicial hierarchy.
          What the hell?

These must be the same folks as the Foundation for Sharia Law.

I prefer the Foundation for Shari Lewis Law.

Great work Adam,,,, getting support from Daily Kos, and attention from their readers,,,,,,

Just thinking,,, I haven’t seen any major protest by the LGBT community to the bill they have hidden in Ohio,,,,, there is some major coverage of the Union issue there,,, wondering if we’d get some free media attention if there was a protest around the gay issue there,,,,, cause they brought it up…..

also,,, when talking about the disparity in media coverage, and honesty in reporting,,, does the new OWN network have a news channel,,,, cause that is part of their whole mission,,, leveling the playing field,, honest reporting, having programs of relevance which educates and provides value to the public,,, someone could pitch a program to OWN for LGBT news,,,,,, I think it would be very popular,,,,, imagine if we could get some backing from that network

This thing you just did with your mouth,, was wonderful,,, keep talking,,,,,…
